Writing Update: Planetfall, Earthfleet, and my future writing plans

Hey there, everyone, I figured that it was time for another writing update, as it's been a little over a month since the last one, and plenty of things have been happening since then.  I think part of it is that it's summer, it's warm outside, my spirits are high, and the writing is flowing once again because of that.  I mean, when it comes to seasons, summer is my best season for writing, and winter my worst, as I suffer from winter depression, making it difficult to make headway on books during that time, and I also find my creativity severely curbed during that period as well.  But anyhow, sad news aside, let's get into this newest update!

Planetfall: For those of you who haven't heard, I'm working on a new series called "Planetfall", which will be a follow on series from The Offworld Chronicles.  The series picks up at the end of the original series, and takes Simon and friends to a whole new world of adventure, including a new planet, and will include many of your favorite characters from the original series, along with a number of new ones.  This series, however, will not be a survival adventure like the first series, but instead will be "colony building" in nature.  Now, that might sound boring, but it's really not, as there's still plenty of action, adventure, survival, and more involved, just in a different way.

Earthfleet: I'm slowly working on getting this series upgraded, but that, unfortunately, takes time.  A LOT of time.  And by "upgraded", I'm referring to my efforts to clean up and improve the story, fix plot holes I missed, correct and perfect the cannon, and so on.  Given that Earthfleet was the first series of books I ever published, I'm not doing this so much as a necessity, but rather a labor of love, in honor of my pioneer writing series.  It's sorta like a proud papa looking out for his children, and making sure they have the best.  I still have four of the six original books that need cleanup which, again, will take time to achieve, so don't expect that to happen with any great speed.

It'll get done as I'm able to get them done.  If I had more free time, I could probably burn those out in record time.  But, alas, I have a job, and numerous other duties to attend to.  So writing kinda takes second fiddle to all of that right now.  Hence the delays in releasing the last two books in my Offworld series.  But, as I get time, and God permits, I'll get back to them.  One other thing I wanted to make note of is, I've decided to pivot away from releasing the next two books in the Earthfleet Expanded Universe simply because I need to focus all my attention on the new Planetfall series.

So I've pulled "Weaver's Forge" from the list of pending works for now, until that's either completed, or much further along in its development than it currently is.  Will they ever be published, and will more books in the Earthfleet universe ever be written?  OH, but of course!  I haven't abandoned that universe yet.  I've just shifted priorities elsewhere for a while.

Other Titles: As I've been working along on my Offworld and Planetfall series, I've been shuffling around future titles, setting aside those I know I likely won't be touching for a long time, if ever, and bringing to the front those that have the greatest chance of seeing publication, or which I have the most interest in.  Two of those include "The Giving Spirit", which is a pocket guide, not about giving itself, but about fostering a spirit of giving that is important for all of us to have, and "The Unreachable Continent", which is a parable of sorts about the human condition, and our inability to reach sinless perfection, no matter how hard we try.

I'm also thinking about taking my short story "Grumpy Ned" and spinning it off as its own story, while also greatly expanding the story in the process to better tell the story of old Grumpy Ned for which the story gets its name.  It's basically a parable about thankfulness, and being grateful for everything we have, even the smallest things.  I also want to take my short story called "The Man Who Reached For God", and make that a short novel all its own.  It's theme will be about the great and incredible things we can achieve if we will only reach for God, and seek to do all that He asks of us, no matter what that may be.

Anyhow, that's my update.  If you have any questions about it, please let me know.  Thanks! :)
