Latest Project: Cooler Shelving

Hey everyone!  Merry Christmas!  And, for your wonderful Christmas Eve/Day viewing pleasure, I bring you pictures of my latest project.  The purpose of this project was to create a pair of shelves to create a three tiered system within one of my coolers to allow me to bring several pyrex dishes full of chilled or frozen treats, and store them in the cooler without having to stack them on top of each other and possibly either ruin them, or getting frosting, whipped cream, topping, etc on the bottom of the layers stacked on top of them.  This allows the two dishes to be packed into the cooler, one on top of the other, with about 1" of headspace for anything that might extend above the dishes.  This keeps the food from touching the bottom of the shelves and this possibly contaminating it or simply just ruining it.  So anyways, here's the pictures of my project.  Just click on the thumbnails to see each image.  It will open in a new window so you don't accidently navigate off this page and forget how to get back. ;)

This here is me setting up my initial saw cuts.  I put up that plastic because I didn't want sawdust on the carpet.  I still got some there, but at least this took care of the majority of it. :) Saw cuts complete!  WOOT
Workbench in use as I start the project. Initial drilling and assembly. First layer partially completed.
First half of first layer assembled and sizing tested. Top in place.
First layer complete with top.  Testing with the second pyrex bowl on top to ensure I got everything right. :) Second layer in place on top of the second pyrex.
And this is what goes on top of the second layer. Or ice, or whatever is needed.  IE, this is for things that will be needed in the cooler, either to keep it cold, or for toppings, etc. And this design still allows the lid to be closed. :)

And that's my latest project.  I hope you all like it, and if you have and if you have any questions, please let me know.  Thanks! :D
