Summary: "The Bitter Cycles of Man" is a 15 book series that tells the story of mankind from just a short time in the future to the late 28th century. (AKA, about 800 years from now) The primary story is told in three separate parts, or "sagas". They are: "Earthfleet" (near future), "Dark Ages" (about 400 years from now) and "Lost Races" (800 years from now). Each of these "sagas" is a different snapshot of mankind in the future, telling the trials and "bitter cycles" that mankind goes through as it struggles to survive in the cold blackness of space.
Books 1-7 comprise the "Earthfleet" saga, books 8-12 are the "Lost Fleet" saga, and the series completes with books 13-15 which make up the "Lost Races" saga. So in essence you have 7, 5, and 3 books respectively in each of the sagas, each one of which is a different snapshot of mankind's history as seen from the future.
The events portrayed in the book try to stay as close as possible to history and reality as it's currently understood. However, some deviations do and will occur. How is this possible? Well, it's because the series is built with the "multiverse" theory in mind. This theory basically states that our dimension is just one of millions, each one either similar or different than our own. The events that play out in this book series occur in a parallel dimension whose history is is similar to ours, for the most part, yet shows distinct differences, as will become more apparent as the series continues.
I hope you enjoy this series and I look forward to your feedback as I continue to release each of the books to you in a timely manner. Also, this is still an evolving work in progress, so stay tuned for updates and changes as they occur. Thanks.
