Hello! My name is Steve Lake, and I'm a very prolific writer! ("Hello, Steve!" replied the support group for prolific writers) hehe. As you can tell I try to have at least a reasonable sense of humor. 
Humor is good, because if you don't have it, you'll either go crazy, or you'll end up writing books.
Oh, wait. That'd doesn't work. 
Actually though, in all seriousness, I do enjoy writing. I started this site (Raiden's Realm) as a way to help people, with a focus on writing a lot of great articles that provide people with everything they need to learn about Linux and Open Source. In turn, I started this writing section as a way to display my wide range of stories, most of which are sci-fi, and share them with the world at large.
I'm one who firmly believes in sharing what you do best with others. In my case that's writing. Because to horde it means that only you get to enjoy it, and honestly that's no fun. When creating rich characters and colorful worlds, why should only one person have the privilege of knowing them? Reading brings the letters on the page (or in this case your computer screen) to life. Those characters can't live unless you read about them. Would you deny a character their chance to live and love, explore and seek adventure by preventing them from being shared by anyone else?
I really can't see how someone could do that. And thus I share what I have here with others.
But now you may ask, "Isn't it your goal to get published some day?" Yep. It certainly is. But that still doesn't mean I can't share some of my stories with you along the way. Besides, doing that serves several purposes: To allow my characters a chance to find a life in the minds of others; To help me grow and become a better writer through feedback from readers like you; And to hopefully draw the attention of someone interested in publishing my work.
So feel free to read, share, and comment on anything here. Feedback is always appreciated, be it good or bad. And before I end this little introduction to myself, I just want say that you can now find me on Google Buzz, FriendFeed, Friendster, Netlog, Twitter, MySpace and Facebook (fan page)!
